Thank you to the community and our supporters!

On behalf of Habitat for Humanity of the Upper Keys I would like to thank everyone in the community for a great event and fundraiser. Our 6th Annual Cocktail Party and Silent Auction raised over $13,000.00 for simple, decent, affordable housing in the Upper Keys.

It took many, many volunteers and supporters to make this event a success. Developer John Dixon and his wife Kathleen opened their beautiful new real estate offering, Mahogany Bay, for us to hold our event. Our usual silent partner sponsored the gourmet hors d’oeuvres (thank you, you know who you are) from Caribbean Catering and the Florida Keys Board of Realtors® sponsored the rest of the event’s costs including music by flutist Marc Berner. As always, the Grossman’s provided the beautiful table center pieces, and the staff of Marr Properties showed up in force to bartend and help out. And of course I would like to thank our many Habitat volunteers, Board and Committee members, and Lynda Anthony, who tirelessly organized and coordinated the entire evening.

And finally, I would like to thank the many local businesses that share our vision that everyone should have an opportunity to buy and own a simple, decent, and affordable home. Businesses such as Ocean Reef Club, Riva South, Paradise Bars, Sea Dragon Tropical Furniture, Amy Slates Dive Resort, De Paula Jewelers, Dolphin Cove, Dr. Travis Bennet, Florida Keys Jewelry, Gyros King, La Cuccina Italian Restaurant and NJ Design all supported the cause by donating items or services for our silent auction.

This is a truly a wonderful and caring community.
